Week of Apr 18th–Apr 22nd

Highlights for the week:

  • TEKS for this week – 1 (C&F), 5 (B&C), 8 (A,D&E), 12C

Monday 18th:

- Part 1) Review

  1. All grades have been entered, so you can check your grades to see what will be on your report card this Thursday
  2. I’ve updated all of the grades for those students who sent me an email with their completed assignment numbers.  If your grade hasn’t changed, either you didn’t send me an email to check it or the assignment wasn’t saved in the correct location (like your 103 folder for example).

- Part 2) New

  1. Watch cats video clip
  2. Rate today’s Website-of-the-day ( Chogger Comic Strip Creator ) using this form: Rate this site form  (You can earn up to 3 points extra credit for completing this 3 question form).  Here’s a test chogger.

- Part 3) Do

  1. This is our 1st graded event of the last grading period!  Record a screencast of a pivot which you created and save it as an avi file.
    • If it’s for the competition, name it ‘pivot 10 sc’  (If you add music using Windows Movie Maker, you’ll have a better chance of doing well in the competition!)
    • If you don’t want it entered, name it ‘pivot sc’

- Part 4) Through?

  1. Create a Chogger comic strip using pictures or drawings
  2. View these time exposure photos from National Geographic

    Tuesday 19th:

    - Part 1) Review

    2. Report cards will be handed out on Thursday

    - Part 3) Do

    1. Make a new folder in your S-drive called Project1
    2. Practice creating a 3-scene Dvolver Movie and send me an email with the link.  I’ll add good examples to a TitanPad for us all to view tomorrow.
    3. Here’s the email information for step 2 above

        Recipient: Mr. Mercer

        Email: bmercer@bastrop.isd.tenet.edu

Your email: (Your ID number in place of zeros) 000000@student.bastrop.isd.tenet.edu

    4. Start our first project of the final 6 weeks (called ‘Project1’) which will use Windows Movie Maker to record brief demonstrations and reviews of each of  the Website-of-the-day sites (what you like and don’t like about each).
      • To start the project, make a Chogger Comic Strip and record a screencast of it using screencast-o-matic.  You don’t need to talk, but it’s easier than adding subtitles to Movie maker later on!
      • Save your screencast of your Chogger as an avi file and put it in your s-drive Project1 folder.  All of the links which you will need for this project are on the Student Links Map highlighted in bright green.

    1. Explore these virtual tours of the Louvre.  What is the Louvre you ask?
    2. Complete the first graded event of the last grading period… your screencast of your pivot animation and save it as an avi file to your 103 folder
