Monday 21st:

  2. Logon to your Google Account using Firefox

  1. We will be studying some vocabulary this week as part of our preparation for TAKS testing
  2. Use Google Earth in Sky Mode and InterWrite to collect images of the planets in our solar system

- Do 

  1. Study this Study Stack of words from the Reading TAKS Test for a quiz tomorrow
  2. Take this Study Stack practice quiz after you have reviewed the words!
  3. Open this Google Doc with the directions for the next several steps
  4. Open Google Earth and switch to Sky Mode (by clicking on the small Saturn image on the toolbar at the top).
  5. Open InterWrite and use it to capture and label images of all of the objects in the solar system layer
  6. Save your InterWrite file as “5-1 Solar System” and upload it to your Google Docs 103 folder

Tuesday 22nd: TEKS for today – 5A, 8D, 10A, 11B

- Part 1) Review

  1. Agendas out and copy yellow (Agenda check tomorrow: no agenda = lunch detention)
  2. Logon to your Google Account using Firefox

- Part 2) New

  1. Glogster demo videos (look in the view folder for your class period to see other tutorial videos)
  2. Check Gmail for Logon information (use link in email once, then use the logon link below and enter your username and student ID to access your account)
  3. Link to Glogster EDU logon

- Part 3) Do 

  1. Study this Study Stack of words from the Reading TAKS Test for a quiz
  2. Take this Study Stack quiz Click the grade quiz button to see how you did on the quiz.  You may retake the quiz to get a higher grade if you like.  This quiz will be assignment 5-2 for the 5th 6 Weeks.
  3. Use this form to send me your grade
  4. Start 1st Glog on ‘Favorite Things’ (could be food, hobbies, fun, music, games, movies, places, etc.)

Wednesday 23rd: TEKS for today - 5A, 6B, 8D, 10A, 11B

- Part 1) Review

  1. Agendas out and copy yellow (Agenda check today: no agenda = lunch detention)
  2. Logon to your Google Account using Firefox

- Part 2) New

  1. Open your 103 folder, create a new folder inside of it called ‘Old’ and drag everything except your 5-1 and 5-2 files into it to make it easier to navigate
  2. Discuss Illusions Perspectives
  3. Watch 2 Glogster Tutorial clips on text and images (Glogster tutorial videos are now in your 103 shared collections folder if you need to review them)

- Part 3) Do 

  1. Retake your Study Stack Reading Vocab Quiz if you would like to raise your grade.  Remember to use this form to send me your quiz grade
  2. Complete 5-1 solar system.png and upload it to your 103 folder if you haven’t already done so.  Make sure the file name is exactly 5-1 solar system and that you save it as a png file and that you upload it or move it into to your 103 folder so I can see it!
  3. Continue working on your first glog (for practice) and save it as ‘Favorite Things’

  2. View Glogpedia for assignment below (link to form)

- Part 3) Do  (7th period agenda check today)

  1. Search through the Glogpedia and find your 3 favorite Glogs. (Internet Explorer works best for viewing these Glogs)
  2. Use this form to send me the URLs for your 3 choices and to tell me 3 things you liked about or learned from each Glog (graded event – assignment 5-3)
  3. Continue working on your first glog (for practice) and save it as ‘Favorite Things’.  Try to include something you learned from Glogpedia to make your Glog better :)

  3. Complete the Glogpedia search and comments form from yesterday (graded assignment 5-3 due today)
